Our content marketing team here at Ephox does a lot of online research. We’re always looking for ways to develop a better landing page, get better email marketing click-throughs, increase our webinar traffic and write headlines that hook the reader.
And that takes a lot of self-study and online research. In fact, I have bookmarked hundreds of links to great content marketing websites in my browser–with the hopes of getting back to those pages. Eventually.
For this blog post, I recently asked each person to give me a few of their go-to websites that help them get better at content marketing.
After a brief analysis, I narrowed them down to seven great content marketing websites, and included a brief reason why you should check them out if you have responsibility for content marketing.
Led by Allan Weiss and Ann Handy, this site brings together experienced executives from publishing, technology, academia and (of course) marketing. Their site is chock full of free and subscription-based content, and they have several daily content-related email marketing newsletters. They must be doing something right with over 600,000 subscribers!
This site, which is actually one of the original players in the web content development field, provides a wealth of down-to-earth and reader-friendly articles, webinars and even podcasts, with a staff of very talented content marketing experts.
Are you wondering what content marketing is (and isn’t)? Are you trying to figure out how to get started or how to justify a content budget within your organization? Or, maybe you are already working with content marketing but you want to get better results, while having more fun? This site is definitely for you, then. It has a plethora of content and tools for both beginners and pros to advance the practice of content marketing.
Since January 2006, this site has been teaching people how to create killer online content. The team, led by founder Brian Clark, focuses on valuable information that attracts attention, drives traffic and builds businesses. These days, that’s called content marketing. According to Clark, he has been building businesses with online content marketing since 1998, before anyone even used that term.
This content-rich site is one of the largest resources of social media marketing news, trends and research, and it really helps you learn to build your content marketing strategy using a variety of different social tactics.
This site is run by David Meerman Scott, an industry-leading marketing strategist and bestselling author of eight books, including three international bestsellers, and a professional speaker on topics including marketing, leadership and social media. He “gets” how to integrate content marketing, online marketing and social media.
HubSpot.com is a great content-related site with a host of blogs, content marketing templates, tools and resources for content marketers. You can subscribe to their email list and get great ideas, or dip your toe in the water and try out their inbound marketing platform of the same name.
These seven collective top favorites are just a sampling of what’s available online to help those of us who face the many challenges and intricacies of content marketing in this ever-changing and evolving environment we all work within.
