It’s been a busy couple of months since we introduced Textbox.io, and we’re pleased to announce some brand new Textbox.io goodness is ready to download. Not only have we fixed a load of bugs, there’s also a heap of impressive new features!
First, inline editing mode makes web-page elements seamlessly editable with a great-looking and responsive editor UI. With a click a user can select and edit these editable regions, letting them review and edit content as it was meant to be seen.
Instead of working on a representation of a page, with Textbox.io inline editing you edit content right where its displayed. There’s no need for a “preview” function, as the styles from the page (along with any page elements) are already in place. Right when editing, the user can see just how the content will be rendered when it’s published. It’s really quite slick!
As of this release Textbox.io is now fully internationalized, including UI translations into 33 languages. So if you’re just starting out learning Kazakh or you’re mastering French, Textbox.io has you covered.
For right to left languages (Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew), Textbox.io even automatically adjusts to more closely match the UI expectations of those languages. Check out our documentation for a full list of supported languages.
We’ve also included an HTML view based on the popular CodeMirror editor, giving you an easy way to view and edit HTML directly. HTML view includes helpful features like syntax highlighting and code completion. Look for improvements like HTML source formatting and auto-indenting in the near future.
A big thanks goes out to all of you that have reached out to us since we launched Textbox.io. The editor is as much yours as it is ours and your feedback has really been invaluable: thanks!
