This post continues our series explaining why Ephox is the only choice for rich-text (aka WYSIWYG) content creation and editing. Our previous post explored the features behind our Image Tools plugin, available in the open source TinyMCE package and built into Textbox.io.
More than fifty staff. Offices on three continents. The largest, dedicated development team working on rich-text editing. Pre-sales engineers. Full-time, professional, trained support. A team committed to customer success. Sales, marketing, and the budgets to innovate.
Welcome to Ephox.
The technology industry tends not to talk about the founding of companies. After all, we are in the business of not only looking to the future but inventing it too. Ephox leads the market in rich-text (aka WYSIWYG) editing and has done so for 15 years. Over this time we survived a dot-com bust and a major global recession. We achieved this with a fearless commitment to innovation.
A global team
Founded in Brisbane, Australia, Ephox now has offices on three continents. Our engineering, R&D, and UX teams continue to work out of our Brisbane office. Sales, marketing, business development and customer success live in Palo Alto. Our team in Umeå, Sweden develops MoxieManager, Plupload, and TinyMCE. Last, but not least, our support team operates out of our Palo Alto and Denver offices.
The point here is this: what makes Ephox different, what makes us the choice for WYSIWYG rich-text editing, is our team. It’s a big team, and it has your back every step of the way.

The most popular open source editor
We proudly develop TinyMCE, the world’s most popular open source rich-text editor. We continue to add value to the open source project. New features, such as image editing, and an online self-service community platform. At the same time, we deliver advanced content creation solutions to businesses, large and small.
You can look back through this series to learn more about these advantages. We highlighted spell checking, file management, support options and user experience. There are of course many more reasons making Ephox the right choice.
You can learn more about pricing and support on the TinyMCE website.
The only editor for mobile
Meanwhile, some of the largest companies in the world deploy Textbox.io. It is available to users of IBM Connections and IBM Web Content Manager. It is also the default editor in the Connections Mobile application on both iOS and Android.
Which is not to say that only large enterprise customers can afford Textbox.io. It is priced to be a viable alternative for developers and companies who need advanced mobile editing. Contact us to learn more.
We are justifiably proud that Textbox.io is the clear market leader for rich-text editing on mobile devices. No other editor currently comes close in the way it solves complex user experience issues.
Much more than editing
But Ephox is more than an editing company. In fact, we don’t think of ourselves that way at all. Our goal is to help our customers, developers, and tens of millions of users create great content.
We spend our days working on building great online content creation solutions. From editing to file management to analytics and reporting.
